The Punjab government has clearly stated that schools will remain closed on Saturday as part of the weekly holiday schedule. The Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat confirmed that no change has been made, and the Punjab Education Department is in the final stages of announcing a new timetable for the province.

The updated school hours will start from October 20, 2025, and continue until March 2026, in line with the winter season. As per the proposal, the Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif will formally sign the plan into effect, reflecting the government’s careful and structured approach to managing the school schedule during the colder months.
