The Pakistan Air Force has deployed its advanced JF-17 Block III jets to Azerbaijan for the bilateral aerial combat exercise named Indus Shield Alpha, marking a major step in defense cooperation between Islamabad and Baku.

Supported by the PAF IL-78 for in-flight refueling, the fighter jets completed a non-stop flight, demonstrating Pakistan’s expanding operational reach and combat capability. This exercise highlights the regional stability goals shared by both nations, focusing on joint training, interoperability, and advanced air combat tactics.

The Pakistani government confirmed the mission as part of its ongoing defense partnerships, while Azerbaijan prepares to induct 40 JF-17 Thunder aircraft under a record package worth $4.6 billion.
